After two unsuccessful attempts at breaking the monster truck speed record since being set at 90.44 MPH in February by veteran Kirk Dabney, Randy Moore and the Aaron’s Outdoors team took a leap of faith and partnered up with the record holding rival.

Kirk Dabney, owner of Maximum Overkill, a well known pioneer in monster truck racing has been in a heated speed record battle with Bigfoot 4x4x4, Inc. since 2009. Previously Randy Moore, driving the popular War Wizard, held the speed record of 84.38 set in 2005.

Previously rivals, Moore and Dabney combined their vast knowledge of Randy’s drag racing experience with Kirk’s advanced technological skills in monster trucks and set out to clinch a speed record for Aaron’s Outdoors.

Friday evening, September 9th, 2011, Randy Moore took to the strip at Bristol’s Thunder Valley Dragway to topple Dabney’s February speed record of 90.44. After a great launch off the line, Randy piloted the Aaron’s Outdoors monster truck down the quarter mile strip clocking a max speed of 92 MPH.

“I have my eyes set on being the first to break 100 MPH in a monster truck. It’s been a dream of mine since the first day my team started building War Wizard #1. We’re determined and will conquer the 100 MPH barrier, it can be done and we’ll get it accomplished. Working with Kirk, Aaron's Outdoors and my team has been a blast, we'll continue working together and we will be back to set a record over 100 MPH,” said an enthusiastic Randy Moore during his post run interview.

A future speed record attempt to break the 100 MPH barrier has yet to be set. Once a date is confirmed it will be released on www.warwizardracing.com.

Winder, GA. :: In 1999 Dan Runte in Bigfoot #14 set the first ever speed record for a Monster Truck, with an amazing speed of 69.3 mph. It’s now nearing the end of 2005 and Bigfoot can no longer proclaim themselves as the team who holds the worlds fastest speed record.

Randy Moore and War Wizard Racing headed to Maxton, North Carolina, with plans of setting a new speed record, and they accomplished just that. With Guinness Book of World Records present, Moore, from Bristol, Tennessee, took to the concrete paved runway in Maxton, North Carolina, to bring home a new world record speed of 84.382 mph.

War Wizard Racing began the day at 8:00 a.m. with their first run of over 78mph. Several runs into the day Moore suffered a fuel primer issue as the primer was literally rattled apart. A quick fix by the WWR team had the truck back on track and at around 11:38 am Moore broke the record.

“War Wizard is very capable of low speeds of over 90 mph, and is also capable of speeds over 100 mph. We learned a lot this weekend and I can already say that we’ll be back to break our own record. Our mistakes that we encountered were learning lessons to make the truck better at higher speeds. The tires we used came from Allen Pezo and worked extremely well for our runs. An entire afternoon at the Goodyear tire plant in Tennessee proved to help us as Goodyear employees shaved, buffed, and tweaked our tires, allowing for greater traction, giving us more stability and speed,” quoted Randy Moore when he spoke exclusively with Monster-Style.com early Monday morning.

War Wizard Racing is encouraging any Monster Truck team to defeat their new world record. Moore made it very clear that this will not be their first and will make it a priority to defend their new World Record.

Randy Moore ended his conversation with, “Bob Chandler of Bigfoot 4x4, Inc. stated we could not break the Guinness World Record of 69.3 mph that they set in 1999. “It was impossible” Chandler stated, well, our team broke it, and look forward to their competition to raise the bar when it comes to the speed of a Monster Truck.”
